Thank you, backers, for coming out and supporting the latest installment of SAVAGE SASQUANAUT! You did it!
Also want to give a thank you to my team and cover artists for their work and contributions to this issue.
Thanks to you all we've gained 28 MORE backers than our previous record from the issue 4 campaign, and in the last few minutes we managed to squeak passed our previous funding goal. That's righteous!
There are a handful of backers with payment info that is outdated, Kickstarter will have messaged you about it. Please update your payment info in the next couple days or your pledge will automatically be cancelled by Kickstarter, and none of us want that to happen.
It will take 2 weeks before I receive the funds from Kickstarter to get the production process started. But that doesn't mean I'll be sitting around for two weeks waiting on the funds, there is still plenty to do. I've given McLain the last round of my notes and corrections which he will wrap up in the next couple days and then I'll get my proofreaders go over the book as well to make sure that it's as perfect as I can make it.
I am also in the process of putting together and staging the BackerKit pledge managing system. This is a NEW part of the process for me, I've not used BackerKit before but too many of my peers have made it abundantly clear how great BackerKit is to managing pledges, surveys, and fulfillment. It's a pretty in depth process that I admit is daunting because of the sheer amount of items and info that they want me to input and set up, but I'm going to do it because SO many have said it's worth it.
What does that mean for you? Not too much will change, I think.
The surveys will come to your inbox as normal in a couple weeks for you to fill out, and it will also provide everyone a second chance to add anything to their order, and if I understand it correctly, the site will also operate as an online store so others who missed the campaign can place orders for as long as the fulfillment of the rewards takes. Pretty cool.
Issue 6 will come later this year, I'm thinking August/September if all goes well. Issue 6 is also the conclusion of Sasquanaut volume 1 and will clock in at 30 pages of story and I'll also reveal the projects that will follow up Sasquanaut that I've been teasing in the newsletter (sign up here) and discussing more in depth about their creation on my patreon page.

With only a handful of days remaining, this Sasquanaut campaign is on track to have the most backers of all the campaigns to date.
With your help we can blow past our previous record, and maybe even reach 300+ backers! That would be stupendous!
Tell your friends about the awesome comics, if you haven’t already. Help spread the love and awareness of Sasquanaut by sporting any (or all) of these slick T-shirts that are available as part of the campaign.
And don’t forget that you can add on and all items, sketch cards, remarques, autographs, and a few other items available exclusively as add-ons such as the print copies of the Artist Editions 1-4, and the Color Art of WesFlo Vol. 1.
It was also pointed out that I had mistakenly failed to include the Sasquanaut patch in the ADD ONs section of the campaign, that has since been rectified. So if you were wanting to add a patch and couldn’t find it, you now can find and add it to your order.
RUSSXPLODE STUDIOS: Books With Heart
Tonight I will be joining Russell Allen on his Facebook live show at 8PM. This is my first time chatting with Russell so I never know what to expect, but I’m sure it will be a pretty rad discussion about Sasquanaut and comics in general. If you want to join in the chat and throw some questions our way that is always good.
Also Wednesday night, to close out the round of Kickstarter interviews, I will be joining my good friends Billy Tucci and Nile Scala, and who knows who else will show up (“Dr.” Blevins perhaps) on the always entertaining POPXP channel.

Interviews:
Today at around 3PM central, I will be chatting LIVE on Facebook with Chuck Pineau on his FB page. If you missed it, Chuck has recently signed on to become the editor for Savage Sasqauanut and my other comic projects currently being developed as part of my Cosmic Roots Studio imprint. We will be discussing all things Sasquanaut and comics related. I'm not sure what all we will get into, but I suspect that Chuck might hit me with a few curveball questions.
Don't Try: Make it Happen the podcast by my friend Andrew Guilde has just gone live this morning with our most recent conversation. To my surprise, I am his first returning guest on his show, and I believe we had a really good conversation. I greatly enjoy talking to Andrew as we have a lot in common as we started this Kickstarter venture at the same time and also had baby girls right around the same time as well so I feel a pretty strong kinship with him.
There is just over a week remaining in the campaign, so keep spreading the word, please.
Also, at the end of this campaign I am likely going to try something new (to me) and use BACKERKIT for the surveys and fulfillment of the rewards.
Good news, you aren't going to have to do anything different. I will create surveys and options and they will still be emailed directly to you to fill out all the questions so that I may pack and ship your rewards.
Why change what has been working so well with the Kickstarter surveys? The simple answers are options, data, and peer recommendations. BackerKit looks to be able to provide me with a whole host of more data and information that I don't get from Kickstarter which will hopefully help me to better to serve you. Also it will provide me with an easy online store to further build the campaign and audience after the Kickstarter ends while I get everything together to pack and send to you all. And most of all, too many of my peers with campaigns my size and larger swear by the benefits and uses of BackerKit that it's too hard to ignore. If it works for the better, awesome, if it doesn't I can always go back to Kickstarter surveys on the next campaign, but I'm very optimistic about this.

Good morning. I hope you had a terrific weekend! The Savage Sasquanaut campaign has progressed some more, and this morning I've received the latest round of letters from McLain to review and make any last minute changes to. Getting these final edits done will allow me to send issue 5 to print as soon as the funds from Kickstarter are transferred about 2 weeks after the campaign ends.
Stretch Goals Announcement
Okay, so first up, when we reach the $6,000 mark, I will once again add four new mini-print postcards to every physical reward tier featuring the 4 new variant covers from issue 5. Think of them as oversized trading cards!
At $7,000, every physical reward tier will receive a brand new Sasquanaut sticker for FREE.
Don't forget, if you've already made a pledge, you can always "Manage your pledge" and select some new add-ons to customize your order. Like adding an autograph to your comics order for $1, adding a t-shirt of any of the 5 designs available (to be chosen in the reward survey), adding a cover sketch remarque to your comic, or adding a custom drawn and colored sketch card by me. Check out these cards, I drew these a couple months ago of the Sasquanaut characters Fleeg and Trax. I may not be Gab Santos level of drawing skills, but I think they came out pretty rad. And I just got in some Cosmic Roots Studio branded sketch cards too, so I'm pretty excited by that.

I'm pretty excited to have been a guest on the 300th episode of the hugely popular Comix Launch podcast hosted by Tyler James. We had a great conversation about Sasquanaut and his latest MASSIVE campaign for C is for Cthulu and the benefits of serializing your comic on Kickstarter. Speaking of Tyler James and his latest project, here it is! I'm pretty excited for this one. We read a lot of different books to my daughter and so I pledged to get the 3 different board books to read to her and also get her one of the fantastic plushies they are offering for her. She loves books and stuffies, and these will likely be as much fun for me as it is for her.
Steampunk, comics, medieval fantasy, and METAL all collide in: Heirs Of Isildur vs Tales From Nocturnia. This campaign centers around the special edition comic Heirs of Isildur: Nightmare Scenario (24 pages), which will answer one of the burning questions from the previous arc, as brings both universes into the metal music world, and lets them duke it out with 5 songs each on an album that will be available as MP3s, on CD, and on collectible colored vinyl!
