Hey, crew, all of the surveys from BackerKit have been sent out. Make sure you check your emails and answer those surveys so I can get everything squared away for your rewards.
Digital only backers
It is absolutely essential you answer your surveys too because all of the digital rewards will be coming to you through BackerKit. All my previous campaigns, I delivered through the message system in Kickstarter, this time it will come form BackerKit so please fill your info in to get them.
Pre Order store
The pre-order store on BackerKit should also be live, so if you know anyone who missed the campaign and wants to get some comics give them this link.

Surveys

Hi, gang! Wanted to let you know that BackerKit has sent out the "smoke test" surveys to some of you. That means, about 5% of you backers will have received the rewards survey from BackerKit, please please please fill them out as quickly as possible. This smoke test will help me make sure that everything is working as it should for you all before I send it out to everyone.
I'll keep an eye on how many submit their surveys and if everything is going well everyone else should get your survey in the next few days, sooner if the smoke test is filled out fast enough.
Once I know things are running as smoothly as I can make them I will then open up the Pre-Order store so anyone who missed the campaign can place an order too. So tell your friends and family how awesome Sasquanaut is and get them to jump on the pre-order store when I provide the link in the next update.

Real quick, I'm sharing that I have received the funds from Kickstarter. HOORAY!
Today, I shared the issue with new editor Chuck Pineau and my usual issue proofreaders for their review and input to get the final polish on the issue. I expect to be able to send the issue to the printer next week.
I'm still working with BackerKit to get the surveys/store setup. Finally got a recurring error answered and fixed just to uncover a couple big new questions to make sure the Kickstarter Add Ons import to BackerKit properly. I believe once I get those questions answered and whatever I need to do to fix them, I'm hoping I can get it submitted for review and sent out.
This has been a learning process. It's taken far longer to learn and set up this new system than I ever expected, though I'm counting on the fulfillment process to be significantly streamlined. Too many of my peers have raved about how much easier it makes packing and shipping so I'm counting on that. If I screw up, I always have the Kickstarter surveys as backup to fix any errors on my part.

Production Update

Good morning! Hope everyone has had a fantastic week and I wanted to give a brief update on production so you all know where everything stands.
Funds, I expect. will arrive in the beginning part of next week. Stickers for stretch goal are currently being printed and I am looking into getting the mini-print postcards started on production either today or early next week.
Still working with McLain to get the final edits on the pages implemented. I'm hoping that this most recent round of adjustments will be the last except for the punctuation and grammar fixes that my proofreaders find. But, new editor Chuck Pineau, still needs to give his stamp of approval before it's all DONE done.
In the meantime, I will finish mocking up the inside covers of the book and get the pages placed in the publishing software.
I'm still working on the BackerKit stuff. I think I have it set, but I'm now experiencing a recurring "Error" from the page and have a support ticket in with them. It's, unfortunately, taken a bit longer for them to reply to this latest round of questions I've asked about this error. HOPEFULLY today will provide me some answers and I can get the pre-order store live and the surveys finished.
Gonna admit, this BackerKit stuff is more time consuming and in depth than I expected, but everyone swears by them as making the fulfillment process MUCH more smooth. Most recently Russell Nohelty has extolled their virtues in just the way they provide the information of what is included in everyone's rewards as being worth the price of BK alone. On the Kickstarter side of things which is what I've used on all my other campaigns, it's not hard but I do have to have a couple spreadsheets and tabs open to get all the info for everyone's pledges. If it will compile them into one place, that could easily make fulfillment go much faster.
It hasn't taken me too long in the past to pack up the rewards, especially with the help from my wife and Dad on the last two campaigns. But it's still limited just due to all the tabs and spreadsheets needed, I have to operate as a central hub for every reward. If I can actually give a sheet with peoples names and info and rewards and let them go off and put them together themselves that would speed the process exponentially.
The question then is, can I let go of the reins enough to let them do it without opening up every reward and checking it myself? In some things I have control issues, I admit it. We shall see.
Sketch Cards!!!
One last thing. I have several sketch cards done, I want to do a bunch more.

If I don't already have a card to fill your request I can try to do that in the latest batch of cards I'm going to draw. No promises but I do want to try to fill the requests. Probably the only thing stopping you from getting a character you want is if I don't like how it turns out, I'll give you a card I think looks better. That's the main reason I don't guarantee everyone gets the exact character they want all the time, sometimes I just can't draw a character well enough IMO. But I am trying to get better so I can make filling requests a more permanent staple. Might slow things down on the fulfillment side, but ultimately I want you to be happy with the art and book(s) you pledge for.

Update Payment info, BackerKit, and KILL COUNT 2

Good morning!
A very brief update that a handful of backers are running out of time to update your payment info for Kickstarter. Odds are your credit card has expired so KS needs your new info TODAY so your rewards are not CANCELLED.
If you've not received messages from Kickstarter or me, you're totally fine and don't have to do anything.
A couple other minor updates.
I have placed an order this morning for the Stretch Goal stickers for every physical reward backer. Got an email with a sale going on at the local sticker company that made many of the previous stickers I've offered and I couldn't delay and jumped on board. Pretty excited to get them, the previous stickers have all been fantastic.
Making some more progress on the BackerKit surveys/store. There is a TON of info that must be inserted and I'm trying to make sure it's all correct, and I've had to inquire about the way Kickstarter add ons are imported into BackerKit so all that is done correctly and no one misses out on the extras.
Good news is BackerKit lets me include images with the items in question, so it should be easier than ever to choose your covers and t-shirts.
About a year or so ago, I colored a comic called KILL COUNT for Jim Hanna. Well he's back with issue 2! I wasn't able to jump on board colors for issue 2 (I was working on Sasquanaut 5) but I did get to do the Ryan Kincaid variant covers which I think turned out pretty RAD! Check out the campaign, it ends in a couple days and has already passed its goal.
